GUIDELINES

Patient Services Directory

If you are staying overnight or longer, we encourage you to bring along personal care items to make your stay more comfortable.

What to Bring

If you are staying in the hospital overnight, we encourage you to bring your own personal care items such as soap, shampoo, combs, mouthwash, toothbrush, shaving kits, sanitary pads/incontinence products and tissues. As well, most of these items are available for purchase in the Volunteer Services Gift Shop. Please speak to your nurse or the unit coordinator for more information. Consider the following items:

  • hospital card
  • Your health card
  • Your current medications, including vitamins and other non-prescription drugs if you're a returning patient
  • Personal belongings
  • Diary or confectionaries
  • A pair of slippers

Valuables

For your security, we advise patients not to bring valuables such as large amounts of cash, jewelry, or expensive clothing into the hospital. If you do have valuables with you, kindly give them to a trusted family member to take home. Where this is not possible, our staff can guide you on how to safely store them during your stay. Please note that Mazqil Medical Centre cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Be involved in your health care

At Mazqil, we believe patients are partners in their own healing. We encourage you to actively participate in your care. If you have questions or concerns about your treatment, please speak up—we are here to listen. Make sure to inform your healthcare team about your past illnesses, your current condition, and all medications you are taking. If you have allergies or have ever had a bad reaction to any food or drug, let your doctor or nurse know immediately. Before leaving the hospital, ensure you understand the instructions for your recovery at home, including medications, diet, or follow-up appointments.
